Y'know, I've done the multitrack thing to death now. I'm thinking it might be kinda fun to see what I can create with just one silly ol guitar.

Lately I find myself watching DMB's Live at the Gorge dvd often. They're such an awesome band, and the way they interact with each other, you can just tell they're having fun. One of my new goals in life is to attend a DMB concert. (Life Goals, in order: 1- Change the World, 2- Write for the NY Times, 3- Form a band and have fun, 4- Attend a DMB concert)

Am I bothered by the fact that I haven't created a song in like 3 months? Hardly. I've got older material that is a bit raw and unpolished, so if I'm really bored, I can try to turn those into songs.

However, I'm bothered by the fact that fruity loops sucks. I need a better drum synth program. (Of bow about just a living drummer?) The fact that cool edit pro sucks is what is keeping me from finished some of my older work, as well as my "watchtower" cover, which lauren (http://redicecider.dmusic.com) has graciously lent her vocal talents to.

I send a giant thank you to everyone who has listened to my music. I'm a totally pleasant surprise to see that people have actually stopped by to listen, without me having to go "listen to my song...please *puppy eyes*".

Though, I'm a bit curious as to where people were referred to my site to begin with.

Still, thank you all, you've made my day.

I'm going to do a cover of "All Along the Watchtower" (DMB version). What's more...I'm gonna sing on this song :o (Eeek!)!

I don't think I use this journal as much as I should.
How do I explain my tuesday afternoon?

Well, last week, I had the urge to see live music, so I emailed Mr. O to see if I could go to the next PJ show, which was being held at the mercury lounge. Mr. O said he thought it'd be a great idea for us to come along, however, it was a 21 and over show, so we'd have to like stick close to the band. Later in the week, PJ decided it'd be cool if we sold merch for the band outside the show. He'd give us free t-shirts and postcards and etc.Oh yeah, "we" is Me, Kevin, and Supreet. The three PJ fans.

So the day of the show arrives. We have to meet O, PJ, and the band at the lounge. We get in, we're ok for about an hour. We set up the merch table, and everything's going good. About an hour before showtime, the bouncer comes in and asks for id. None of us have it. PJ tries to do it his "I'm PJ Loughran, these guys are with me" act, but it doesn't work. Mr O comes out too, and the bounce relents a bit. He says he will allow only one of us to stay. So the choice becomes, who stays? Kevin, Supreet, or me? Supreet and Kevin both think that I should stay, since coming was my idea. So it's up to me.

I do the only thing that comes to mind, I leave with my friends. Seeing the PJ show would have rocked, but you know what? My friends are my friends. I came with them, and if they can't see the show, I don't want to see it either. So we all leave. PJ and O feel bad, so they say we can take free t-shirts. I grab the first t-shirt I can find, and we bounce.

We walk around manhattan for a while, and supreet meets some guy from the nuyorican theater. They talk for a while. I have to pee, so supreet goes home, and kevin and I head to the library in queens. We get there, and the bathroom's closed. We go downstairs, I get to use the bathroom, and I'm so happy that I don't notice the bathroom is disgusting. It's so bad, Kevin has to wrap paper towels around the door handle so that we can get out.

Then I headed home and slept. Too tired to do work, so I stayed home today to make up for it.

I guess that's it...another misadventure...

I'm leaving for Germany next monday, so I've got to record a song and have it up on dmusic by then, else I get kicked out of the ug leauge... I've got to two ideas in my head, but neither of them is polished enough to be recorded, and I don't want to enter one of my previous songs...I need more time :( (Frown)
